RoyCoup Sports Press — It’s the same spring to me. It’s another year. I’m going to come out here and work hard. I’m going to try and keep getting better. Everyday I try to get better at something.

RoyCoup Sports Press — Let’s get back into some baseball with our first “Your Daily Sports Cliche” of the 2015 season which comes courtesy of Matt Shoemaker of the The Angels Angels of Anaheim.
Competition’s a driving factor in this game. I mean, you uh always wanna get better, and if you better yourself, you’re gonna better the team. So, it’s uh gonna be a really exciting spring, and uh a really exciting season.
RoyCoup Sports Press– Well, spring training 2013 is here with most position players having arrived at their respective camps. So, let’s kick off the 2013 season with a good ole “had one bad year” baseball cliche from none other than new Red Sox right fielder Shane Victorino:
“I’ve had seven, eight years in the big leagues, but again, at the end of the day, people always talk about age and talk about how I had a down year and how my numbers are going backwards. But I would say this –- it’s just one year.”
I felt good. I felt good out there today. I worked on a few things, threw some pitches in situations I wouldn’t normally throw them in. You know, again, this is still spring training. I’m getting where I need to be, you know? Things are progressing as they should. Just go out there, get my work in and build up my pitch count to be ready for opening day.
Today signals the start of spring training for the Boston Red Sox and, as other teams begin their spring training work-outs, the 2012 baseball season has officially gotten under way. So, in that spirit, I thought I would kick off the festivities with another Daily Sports Cliche: Spring Training Edition (Boston Red Sox).
Can we change what happened last year? Absolutely not. But can we learn from our mistakes? Yeah, I feel we can. But after today, I don’t want to talk about what happened last year. That’s in the past. I want to focus on 2012, because I feel like we still have a good team capable of winning the World Series. I can’t change what happened in 2011. The fans had a right to be angry, but let’s focus on 2012. I’m anxious to show our fans what we can do. We’ve got a real good team here.
While we’re on the Red Sox, can the Boston writers please just shut the fuck up about last year? Seriously, leave it in the past where it belongs and grow up. I really hope we don’t have to continue to hear their fucking doggerel once the season starts. Harrumph.
